My Approach

I work with you as a

whole human being. So, I approach the issues that you are facing within the context of  your current circumstances and also consider past relationships and history. Every thing is connected.  My values will also influence my approach.

Most of my work focuses of 3 interconnected areas:

Nurturing Relationships

ReHumanizing Grief

Catalyzing Change

What does Nurture mean?

  1. as in to cultivate
to help the growth or development
  2. as in to educate to provide (someone) with moral or spiritual understanding
  3. as in to sustain
    to supply with nourishment

from Meriam Webster

Your well-being and survival depends on relationships. And, wounding and harm also happens/ed within relationships.  Learn how to cultivate authentic, respectful relationships.

What is to ReHumanize ?

to restore human qualities to : to humanize (someone or something) again

… having a chance to meet the offender, rehumanizes him.—Sonya Friedman

If we want to reignite innovation and passion, we have to rehumanize work.—Brené Brown

from Meriam Webster

Grief is a universal human experience. But society teaches us not to cry and to hide our pain. Come, experience compassionate support to process your distress and despair so you can live fully.

What does Catalyze mean?

– to bring about the catalysis of (a chemical reaction)

a modification and especially increase in the rate of a chemical reaction induced by material unchanged chemically at the end of the reaction.

from Merriam Webster

Catalyst

2. something that causes activity between two or more persons or forces without itself being affected.

3. a person or thing that precipitates an event or change.

4. person whose talk, enthusiasm, or energy causes others to be more friendly, enthusiastic, or energetic.

from dictionary.com

While change is a part of being alive, personal growth can be difficult.  Familiar dissatisfaction is comfortable and fear is a reliable barrier. In such times, a catalyst is exactly what is needed.

You came for teas and introduced me to non-violent communication concept & contact play with kids. … Your passion to teach children body sovereignty & awareness has been powerful in my mothering approach with my children and [I] passed it on to other fellow mamas to reassure them that what they are feeling is right and potent, and they have the full right to stand up for their kids.

I took the courses you’ve offered on moon cycles and sleep/awake cycles, & you’ve encouraged me to explore for myself each phase of my cycle, and OMG, yes, it did change my life and my relationship with my cycle and outer world. Infinitely grateful for that.

Thank you, Maharani for today’s session. All the weight in my heart just went away in the one hour session. Usually with how busy our lives are, we forget that we have to pause and go through the grief.

When I told you that I miss my mother’s hand on my heart and you requested me to put my hand on my heart, it just brought out all the emotions and released the unhappiness. When I left your home, all the memories of my mother became happy memories instead of sorrow and pain.

This process has allowed me to recreate this warmth for so many of my relationships which have been frozen or stuck in patterns that I hadn’t been aware of and given me the tools to practice the unlearning and adaptable nature needed for growth and getting unstuck.

Let’s Work Together

My Values

Anchored in Joy & Nature

Cultivating delight and pleasure is essential when facing challenging times and difficult truths. It soothes and softens confusion, grief, rage, and despair. Reintegrating into Nature deepens our interconnection and interdependence and provides a deep sense of belonging.

Rooted in Respect & Acceptance

I warmly welcome people from all walks of life and identities. I support those who are disabled, mad, neurodivergent, and mentally ill. Your experiences are valid, and you have a right to receive the care that you need so that you feel seen, heard, and accommodated.

Grounded in Body & Movement

I offer a broad range of modalities for you to explore such as yoga, breath-work, somatics, dance, and stimming. By focusing on the body and its sensations, you can find ways to return to ease in response to overwhelm. A felt sense of safety is foundational for deep healing work.

Informed by Training and Experience

I merge knowledge from the breadth of my training with my diverse, intersectional life experiences to offer unique perspectives in understanding your needs and issues. I integrate modern technology and ancient wisdom to support emergent individual and community needs.

Founded Upon Trauma Responsiveness & Autonomy

I am mindful of the personal & inter-generational trauma that we all carry whether we are aware of it or not. This is our collective burden because we live in a hierarchical, colonial, capitalistic, highly individualistic society. So, I center your safety and prioritize regulation, transparency, and autonomy. And I am respectful of your cultural values and traditions and adapt accordingly. I realize that I have the power to cause harm, so I do my best not to slip into unequal power dynamics. I also invite feedback and welcome accountability so that I can repair any hurt or harm that I cause.
