What to expect?

Understand why parenting needs to begin during pregnancy.

Parenting generally refers to the process of raising and educating a child that starts at birth.  However, the baby begins learning in the womb! During pregnancy, the baby is completely dependent on the mother and is shaped by all aspects of her environment  from physical to emotional, social, and even political.  So it is important to understand the experience of the baby in the womb and support them in their growth and development.

While pre-parenting is an ancient practice and Eastern cultures still have access to these practices through Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Western society has rediscovered pre-parenting through the field of Birth Psychology. Birth Psychology explains how conception, pregnancy and birth shapes human development, health, and society.  It is a holistic field that integrates physiology, neuroscience, psychology, sociology, and evolutionary biology.

This workshop will provide an overview of pre-parenting and includes
